Grilled New York Strip with Pesto



1 Garlic Clove, Minced
2 TBSP Pine Nuts, Toasted
1 Cup Fresh Basil Leaves, Packed
2 TBSP Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese, Grated
1/2 Cup Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper


2 10 Oz. New York Strip Steaks, 1 1/4 inch thick
Vegetable Oil
1 TBSP Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper


  1. To prepare pesto, combine garlic, pine nuts, basil, and cheese in a food processor. Once paste forms, slowly drizzle all olive oil in. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. To prepare steaks, allow steaks to come to room temperature.
  3. Heat large pan over medium-high heat. Lightly brush pan with vegetable oil.
  4. Rub steaks with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place steaks on the grill and cook until grill marks develop and temperature is 130ºF. Allow to rest for 10 minutes, then slice. Spoon pesto on top of steaks
